Our Strory

Our Story

In 2019, I picked up a cheap Singer sewing machine and taught myself to sew from YouTube videos. I wasn't thinking about fashion. I was thinking about survival—and wigs, actually, because the ones I wanted cost too much. Then came zipper pouches. Then, in 2020, during the pandemic, a newborn and the realization that nothing in fashion was built for my geometry.

I have broad shoulders, a narrow waist, full thighs, and a post-C-section midsection. I'm a size 12 one moment and a size 14 the next, depending on who's designing. I couldn't find clothes that honored all of me at once. So I learned to build them. And after six years at my desk in our one-bedroom apartment, I realized I wasn't just sewing for myself anymore. I was building something much bigger: a chair at the fashion table for the woman fashion forgot.

Lovely Image is built on a philosophy: luxury should be intentional, not loud. Every design choice reflects that. We use couture-level precision in our seaming—hand-serged, topstitched, pressed open. We source only organic hemp, Tencel from sustainably-managed forests, and deadstock fabrics that would otherwise become waste. We produce in micro-batches of 10–15 units because we refuse to make garbage. And we design specifically for curvy silhouettes because the fashion industry hasn't. Every seam is placed with your geometry in mind. We don't hide your curves—we architect them. Because you deserve clothes made for exactly who you are, not someone else's blueprint.
